My Mother's Day started early this year. Friday night, I got the arrival of a brand new Dyson!!! Yes, I know these things retail at $600 but they are worth every penny!!! I've had a refurb for several years now. It's been dropped down the stairs one two many times and duct tape only goes so far. I now own a new, never used Dyson. Wow!!! Dirt and dog hair doesn't stand a chance in my house!!!
Today, went for a pedicure. Every mom deserves on Mothers Day weekend! Came home to find Logan FINALLY organizing his Legos into the bins I made him back at Christmas!!!
Really, Mothers Day hasn't started, officially, and its already wonderful.
About to put the kiddos to bed and curl up with my Kindle!
Happy Mothers Day to all you amazing moms out there!!! May you have a wonderful day filled with love, hugs, and kisses!!

I think we're in Kansas, Toto!
Got a few minutes to blog and looking out the window. WOW! The wind is HARSH. Went to Lowe's to get ONE water filter and a few pods of Spanish moss. That and a "few" items later from the gardening section, I'm now patiently awaiting the rain to come through so I can plant my new "finds". David - this is all YOUR fault for sending me into the gardening section to find moss. So, the blame lies on you, dear. Don't argue with me, it does. :) LOL!!!
Got some emails out for "Rock4Autism". SO many of you already have hooked me up to some AWESOME reasources. I'm just astounded with the support you all are giving this!!! Who did I email? Charlie Daniels to help point me in the right direction. And 3 Doors Down. Hey, a girl can dream, can't she? Dreams do come true and you gotta work for your dreams, they don't just happen! (No, someone isn't just going to "take care of you" or write a big fat check and make it all happen. You gotta do it yourself! Hopefully, this is one value/lesson in life I can teach my kids!)
So, what's the latest on the EE Sale? We are looking for our next location!!! :) This is my JOB and I LOVE it!! I love helping moms make money and saving money on the stuff they need for their families!!!! :) Oh, how I LOVE it!!! And, I especially LOVE meeting and making the new friends I have. :)
Wilson Books from Birth - the numbers are in. $13,000!!! We raised so much money to keep that life changing program that the amazing Dolly Parton started! :) What is it? A FREE book goes to every registered child from birth to age 5. Encouraging reading from the parent to the child. Igniting imagination, creativity, wonder, family cuddles, and most of all...getting those miraculous little brain cells just GOING!!! Starting what could be the beginning of greatness with each child and their future!!! I LOVE it!!!
Oh, and between all of that. I think I did some laundry, some cooking, and some other stuff. I did get some AWESOME news. I'm no longer an "asthmatic". If you saw my post, the Celiac diagnosis has been nothing but a blessing. No more stomach meds, no more arthritis meds, and now no more asthma! Even better, my insurance has taken me off the "at risk" list and I'm not in jeopardy of my premiums DOUBLING!!! I'm so thankful!!
Busy weekend up ahead. Really looking forward to the Mom/Son dance on Saturday night. Going with lots of friends and my boy (of course). It's our first ever one in MJ. I LOVE this town because we "do something about it". The way this town is. If we don't like it, see a need for it, etc., instead of "whining", we do something about it and everyone pitches in. There's been a Father/Daughter dance for years. Moms Club here said "Hey, we want a dance for us so we are going to do it!". Lots of businesses and volunteers pitched in to make it happen. It's a "Glow in the Dark" dance. :)
Getting messaged here, gotta go and do something!!!

It was Trisha's Idea!
LOL! This blog was my BF's, Trisha, idea. Why? As she says, "You are the busiest SAHM I know!". I guess so. Sorry, but I just don't know like to sit around and do nothing!! I do have a job, I own a business. I co-own Encores East Consignment Sale. That does take some time (twice a year), but my primary job is being a MOM.
A little bit about me. I'm a celiac. I will post my recipes here. Also, check me out on Facebook: GFCookNook. My family has lots of food allergies so I'm thankful for an AWESOME grandmother who taught me the skill of making my own recipes. She also taught me how to adjust recipes to taste good...have you tasted some of those Gluten Free (GF) recipes out there? YUCK!!!
I love to quilt, craft, sew, scrapbook, cook, spend time with my kiddos, and mostly "make a difference".
This brings me to why she suggested I do this blog. I do A LOT! Like I said earlier, I co-own a VERY popular consignment sale (making a difference). I volunteer for Wilson Books from Birth (love you, Dolly Parton). I volunteer as a Liason for Nashville Parent Magazine for Wilson County, TN to inform the magazine of "what's going on" around here; in hopes that one day Wilson County will get our own Parent Magazine (again, making a difference). Now, I'm beginning a new chapter "Rock4Autism". More on this later! Kiddos are wanting attention and dinner will need to be started. Tonight's meal includes: grilled chicken, apple-bacon cabbage, & GF mac n cheese. :) Have a great one!
